  1. Spoon pumpkin puree into a resealable bag and freeze, 8 hours to overnight.
  2. Remove pumpkin from freezer and allow to soften at room temperature, 5 to 10 minutes.
  3. Pour milk into the blender; add pumpkin, banana, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth, about 3 minutes.

  • You can substitute the milk with soy or almond milk. I buy big cans of pumpkin puree and pre-bag them in 1 cup amounts so I can pull them out and make them whenever.

Like drinking pumpkin pie but so much healthier and refreshing. I used frozen bananas (I keep in freezer since I do lots of smoothies) and did not freeze the pumpkin. I also increased milk to 2 cups. With the frozen bananas it is still very thick. Thanks for the recipe! I am always looking for a new smoothie idea that is not full of fats and sugar.

I doubled this recipe. I threw in two raw eggs and used Truvia sweetener instead of brown sugar. One of the best smoothies I have had in a long time--the kids really liked it, too. VERY filling.
