Directions

  1. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar and egg until well blended. Stir in the molasses. Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and ginger; stir into the molasses mixture. Cover the dough and chill for at least 1 hour.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets. Roll the dough into walnut sized balls. Place the cookies 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheet.
  3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

THESE ARE SO SOFT!! I let them cool as directed (5min on the sheet then to wire rack) I only let them sit on the wire rack about 2 - 3 minutes and then I bagged them. I also dipped them in red and green sugar, just for holiday flare - THEY ARE TASTY TASTY TASTY!!

Really delicious and simple. They've stayed nice & soft. I used my Pampered Chef small melonball tool and had these done in no time. Made the perfect amount.

THESE ARE GOOD! Don't believe any bad reviews on these cookies (they must have done something wrong)! I used 1 t. cinnamon, 1/2 t. ground cloves and rolled the balls in sugar before baking. Baked for 11 minutes. EXCELLENT soft molasses cookies!!
