  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, confectioners' sugar and vanilla until smooth. Combine the flour and baking soda; stir into the creamed mixture. Mix in the quick oats and chocolate chips. Roll the dough into walnut sized balls. Place balls 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet and press to flatten slightly using a fork.
  3. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, until edges are golden brown. Remove from cookie sheets to cool on wire racks.

Too sweet to enjoy on its own, but good if eaten with a tall glass of milk. Also terrific with peanut butter.

These really are melt in your mouth cookies. You can never just eat one. My husband makes these for me when I am craving something chocolaty and sweet! And the best part is, he doesn't mind maki...

This recipe has been in my family since I was a kid and we love them! They are at every carry in and holiday event. :)
