Original recipe yields 10 to 12 servings
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add potatoes and cook until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain and mash with butter. Stir in cream cheese, sour cream, salt, pepper and garlic salt. Transfer to a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes.

"I was not about to peel 5 lbs of potatoes so I left the skin on them and boiled a little longer so the skins were tender. Still came out great. I also sprinkled about a cup of shredded cheese on top...." See more I added some crumbled bacon on top. The only reason why I did that is I was making bacon cheeseburgers so I fried up the entire batch of bacon. My entire family loved this and it went great with the grilled food and watching football!
