Original recipe yields 5 dozen



  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. Mix in the oats, chocolate chips, vanilla chips, butterscotch chips and chopped pecans. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Cookies should be at least 2 inches apart.
  3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.

very good and very easy. Used 1/2 cup applesauce and 1/2 cup butter, and used zylitol instead of sugar. subbed raisins for some of the chocolate chips and only used a cup of each. excellent cookie!

Like other reviewers, I had to make some substitutions based on my not-so-full pantry. I had only choc chips, and no nuts, so I omitted the nuts and added 1 C each of Crasins and raisins. There wasn't a lot of flavor, considering what I DIDN'T use, so I added about 2 tsp of friends and family just raved! Thanks, Cara, for a new "keeper"!



These cookies were sinfully delicious! The only change I made was adding about 1/4c water to the batter b/c it was just way too dry (we live in a very dry climate, so I'm not surprised). I made these cookies as a welcome gift for my new neighbor and her two boys - I'm sure they'll love them!
