  1. Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Saute onion and garlic until tender. Stir in sausage and cook until evenly brown.
  2. Pour in water and bring to a boil. Stir in green beans; reduce heat to medium-low, cover and simmer until tender, about 30 minutes. Check water level often and add more as needed to prevent scorching. Season with salt to taste.

I make green beans all the time in this very same manner..here's a tip: When you buy smoked sausage or have leftover ham, throw it in the food processor and always have it on hand in the freeze...

Easy. I used smoked sausage. I will keep this but change the way it is cooked. Shorten the cooking time way too long.

These are the only green beans in the world that I will actually eat 2 helpings! The sausage really makes them tasty! I use fresh green beans. Mmmmm mmmmmm good!!
