  1. In a medium saucepan, bring water and brown rice to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 45 to 50 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in a medium skillet over high heat, brown the ground beef and drain fat.
  3. Stir the mushroom soup, green onion, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce and pepper into the skillet with the beef. Simmer on medium low heat for 10 minutes. Serve over the rice.

I substitute smoke flavoring for soy sauce. Been making this a couple years now, and I would have said 4, but my husband requests it so much and can't get enough, so I have to give it a five.

We have made this for years--but we call it "hamburger mush". Never thought of using soy sauce in it before though and like the taste with it in it. We also add some garlic or garlic powder.
