  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Heat oil in a large heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Brown steaks for 3 to 5 minutes on each side. While browning, season both sides with onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Transfer steaks to a 9x13 inch casserole dish, and sprinkle with chopped onion and sliced mushrooms.
  3. In a small bowl, combine condensed mushroom soup, water, onion soup mix and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until smooth, and pour over steaks. Cover pan with aluminum foil.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for 90 minutes.

Super! I made these in my slow cooker but eliminated the water. They were awesome!

Fantastic! I used a box of fresh sliced mushrooms and added a 15 oz can of beef broth instead of water. Also, I dredged the steaks in flour before browning and baked it about 2 hours. You could cut it with a fork and the gravy was wonderful on mashed potatoes. This is real comfort food!

Steaks were nice and moist - gravy had good flavor. Only complaint is that there was WAY too much of it! Consider paring down - I'd probably only use one can of soup and mushrooms next time.
