Original recipe yields 12 servings

Directions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink; drain fat, and set aside.
  2. In a 3 1/2 quart or larger slow cooker, combine the ground beef, baked beans, green chiles, onion and barbeque sauce. Season with brown sugar, garlic powder, chili powder and hot pepper sauce. Cook on HIGH for 2 hours, or low for 4 to 5 hours.

I prefer baked beans to be thick, not swimming in juice. I used two 32 ounce cans of Van Camps regular pork and beans and drained the excess juice off the top of the cans. I used pork sausage instead of hamburger and it was so good. I cooked the onions with the sausage when I browned it. Fantastic baked beans!"
