Directions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, combine ground beef, onion and garlic. Cook until meat is evenly brown. Drain excess fat. Stir in carrots, bell pepper, diced tomatoes and stewed tomatoes with juice. Season with onion powder, parsley, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper. Cover, and simmer 15 minutes. Stir in tomato sauce and sugar. Simmer 15 minutes more.
  2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta, and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente; drain. Toss pasta with meat sauce until evenly coated, and serve with crumbled Gorgonzola.

Yum! Served this with fusili. It is a fairly meaty sauce, with a good mix of veggies, and the sweetness is just right. Quick too. Two notes: 1) I used a can of diced tomatoes to replace the stewed tomatoes AND the fresh ones 2)I used crushed tomatoes instead of sauce. Those substitutions are almost the same, though.

Very great taste but not enough sauce. I would use more tomato sauce and alittle more meat! overall amazing flavor!!

I used leftover sloppy joe meat that had veggies in it, so I skipped the steps for cooking the ground beef and veggies. I used tomato sauce instead of stewed tomatoes. Turned out pretty good.
