  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour one 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Beat egg in mixing bowl until frothy. Add sugar, oil, and vanilla. Beat to blend. Mix in buttermilk.
  3. In another bowl measure the flour, soda, and salt. Stir to mix well. Add walnuts, cherries, raisins, and chips. Mix together. Add all at once to liquid batter. Stir only until just combined. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour or until bread tests done. Let bread stand for 10 minutes then remove from pan and let cool on a rack.

This is the one recipe that made allrecipies.com my favorite place on the net. Bishop´s Bread is so easy to make, so quick, and delicious you´ll be making it again and again. It´s an easy recip...

Wow! This is a winner. Perfect for any holiday season. Instead of candied cherries I used dried cherries, and it was great! Also perfect for a church bake sale...(Bishop's Bread..ha, ha)!

Basically a pound cake. Easy to make. I did not like it but my guests did.
