“This is a good wedding cake icing. While frosting cake, keep bowl covered with a damp cloth to prevent excessive evaporation. Makes enough to frost one 3 tiered wedding cake, and to decorate with garlands and flowers.”

Original recipe yields 5 cups

Directions

  1. Cream butter or margarine. Add salt and part of the sugar gradually, blending after each addition. Add remaining sugar, alternately with the egg whites first, then with the cream; beat after each addition. Beat after each addition until smooth. Add vanilla, and blend.

This icing was awful too! I have been baking for years and this is the first time that I have broken an appliance baking! The icing was so stiff it bent the beaters on the mixer!

Way too thin and runny! I even chilled the mixture for a few hours and rebeat it before using, and it slid right off the cake. DO NOT USE THIS
