Directions

  1. Beat egg. Mix in milk. Sift flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder; beat into egg mixture until smooth.
  2. Pour oil into a heavy pan until it is 1 inch deep. Heat to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  3. Pour batter through funnel into oil with a circular motion to form a spiral. Fry until lightly brown; turn over to brown the other side. Cook to golden brown, and remove to drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar while still warm.

Made this recipe for my kids last night and they were a hit! I did have to add more milk as it was a bit thick and I also added more sugar to make the batter a bit sweeter. With that they turned out just like the funnel cakes you get at the fairs/carnivals, etc! They were delicious and very easy to make.

I Think that is was great all it really needs like everyone say more milk and more sugar.

These were soooo good! I couldn't make them fast enough for everyone. They were really easy to make and delicious.
