  1. Preheat your oven's broiler.
  2. Arrange the slices of bread in a single layer on a baking sheet. Mix together the olive oil and garlic powder in a cup or small bowl. Brush onto the slices of bread. Cover each piece of bread with tomato slices, then sprinkle with as much cheese as you like. Drizzle just a bit of the olive oil over the cheese.
  3. Broil for 3 to 5 minutes, until cheese is melted and bread is toasted. Make sure you keep an eye on it - it doesn't take long!

Perhaps the reason some reviewers are finding this recipe to be a bit too salty , is because while the ingredients list says garlic salt, the directions say garlic powder. My guess is that it's ...

This recipe was great. Very simple and quick. To save time, I used canned diced tomatoes, pre-seasoned with basil and garlic I didn't have any garlic salt on hand, so I used a Italian seasoning...

This is my favorite appetizer. You can change the cheese or add other spices. This is a classic! Thank you.
