  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In skillet, crumble and cook sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain on paper towels. In bowl, combine sausage, gravy, vegetables and Worcestershire sauce.
  2. Pour into a greased 2-quart casserole dish. Spoon mashed potatoes into even layer on top. Bake for 30-40 minutes or until hot.

I love sausage so I was happy to see a Sheperds Pie that is SO EASY to make with sausage in it. I halfed this recipe and man, it was really good! (I also like to cook my sausage dark, brown and even sort of burnt.) The gravy made the vegies taste yummy too. I will surely be making this again.

I disagree with the reviewer giving the lowest rating. This was the best Sheperds Pie I've ever tasted! The sausage and gravy gave the pie a great flavor. It was so easy to put together and a great mid-week dinner for the family. We had it last night with applesauce and dinner rolls. That's all that was needed for a perfect dinner.


This was a great winter meal. Everyone loved it. I cut the sausage by half and added ground beef. I also added one small diced onion sweated in olive oil before the meat in the pan. I also made my own garlic mashed potatoes for the top.
