Original recipe yields 5 servings



  1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and green peppers; cook and stir until soft. Season with salt, pepper and paprika. Put in tomatoes, cover and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a separate skillet, fry the pepperoni or sausage until browned. Mix into the pan with the tomatoes. Cover and simmer for 5 more minutes. Serve over hot cooked rice.

This was so simple yet so amazing! I used caribou summer sausage and served cabbage and sour cream/chive pierogies on the side.



Delicious! This is simple to prepare, economical, and most importantly, good. I used a regular smoked sausage instead of pepperoni (my boyfriend doesn't really care for pepperoni, for some reason). The flavor is delicate, yet powerful (paprika is one of my favorite spices). Great winter comfort food, and I will make it again. It is on the same page as a keilbasa and cabbage recipe I made from this site a few weeks back. I would enjoy adding cabbage to this dish. I guess as a Czech you can't go wrong with sausage and vegetables!
