  1. In a saucepan, combine the apples, sugar, cinnamon and water. Stir to dissolve sugar, and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 10 minutes, or until apples are soft and syrup has thickened. Serve over pancakes or ice cream.

Very, very yummy. We actually used this as a side dish with dinner. I agree that one teaspoon of cinnamon instead of one tablespoon is better. And I just noticed the other reviewer's suggestion ...

This really did not turn out "syrupy". I let it cook for 15-20 min in hopes that more water would boil off to form a syrup. It never did. If I make this again, I'll just skip adding extra wat...
