Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. Mix shortening and sugar well. Add eggs. Mix dry ingredients together and add to shortening mixture until dough is stiff and doesn't seem sticky (you may not need to add all of the flour).
  3. Roll out on a floured board. Cut into shapes. Decorate with sprinkles or colored sugar. Re-roll trimmings and cut into shapes until all of the dough has been used.
  4. Bake on lightly greased cookie sheets for 8 to 9 minutes.

Would probably be a good recipe if all the ingrediants were listed. You can not make this tea cake without adding milk.

Sorry to rate so low, but you left milk out of your recipe... if you add 2 tablespoons of milk to this recipe, use 1 stick of butter instead of shortening, and 1 teaspoon of baking powder instea...

I didn't like this recipe. My grandmother's version was fluffy and sweet!
