May I suggest you add some fresh dill to the white sauce after you add the milk. It's a common ingredient that's used in Polish cooking and adds a lot of flavor.

You can make this a chicken fried chicken steak by using a chicken breast flattened with a meat tenderizer between paper.

was raised on country fried steak. My mother browned the steak made the gravy and finished cooking the steak in the gravy. Makes for a much richer gravy.
