Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

In this video, you’ll see how to make tender, succulent Hawaiian-style pork in your slow cooker. This recipe is incredibly simple. The key is a simple rub mixture of Hawaiian sea salt and a little liquid smoke—combined with many hours cooking in the slow cooker. The meat comes out so tender, and with the smoky flavor you get from a real Hawaiian pig roast. For a special treat, serve this shredded pork with coleslaw on sweet Hawaiian rolls! I have tried this in the oven also but I added some soy sauce, Hawaiian Rock salt and wrapped it up in Tea leaf or Banana leaf and covered pan with foil at 350 degrees for 3 hrs or until meat is soft. Delishous!

I use Kiawe Liquid Smoke and wrap the meat in banana leaf or Ti leaves then add a foil lid between the meat and lid to keep the moisture locked in.
