In this video, you’ll see how to make sweet, salty, spicy mixed nuts. These are the world’s best party snack! And they’re so simple to make. Chef John... See more chooses walnuts, pecans, cashews, and almonds for his nut mix, spicing them up with cayenne pepper, cumin, salt, and freshly ground black pepper. You can also throw in chipotle pepper, smoked paprika, whatever seasonings you like. Next, you’ll make a simple butter and sugar syrup for glazing the seasoned nuts. It’s so easy! Bake them in the oven until they transform into beautifully glazed, perfectly roasted party nuts! Watch the video, then get Chef John’s recipe for Sweet, Salty, Spicy Party Nuts. Dec 24, 2012 3:32 AMI've just made this recipe and it's scrumpdiddlyumptious!! (Even though my dog ate half the bag of my hazelnuts!!!) I didn't have cayenne but did have cumin. However the next batch I'm making today I'm going to try the Chinese 5 Spice in place of the cumin, as I love that spice, and will also add the cayenne. They are very tasty but not sicky sweet.
