How to Make Beef Goulash

Plays: 65609

In this video, you’ll see how to make beef goulash, a rustic Hungarian stew inspired by the recipe of a certain famous Austrian chef. It features tender pieces of succulent beef chuck in a beautiful toasted caraway and paprika-based sauce. Serve over buttered noodles, rice, or potatoes; and garnish with sour cream and fresh marjoram. Watch the video, then get the recipe for Chef John's Beef Goulash. Mmm, it’s Old World comfort food at its finest. See more Chef John videos >>

Watched this video twice. Made the recipe as written. Thanks, Chef John, for giving us this great recipe(and for making it so simple to complete with success).

I love Chef John's videos. He has a great sense of humor. I've been looking for a good Hungarian Goulash recipe since a friend who used to make it died and I never got the recipe. I'm making this today. Hope it's what I was looking for. Thanks Chef John.

This looks delicious! I would add sautéed fresh mushrooms with the onions. The chef does call his dish "stew" also. This sounds like a good dish on a winter's day.
