@mo.ashori: Instead of egg, you can use chia seed.One tablespoon of chia seeds to three tablespoons of water. Let them soak and expand. They call this a chia egg.

Great recipe! Very delicious! May I suggest---If you are looking to make this recipe WITHOUT the bread crumbs and the egg, simply use cooked mashed sweet potato...This addition takes the burger from vegetarian to vegan, and amps the flavor and the texture. They are a touch crumbly at first, so don't turn them until they are cooked fully on one side.

I agree with not using bread crumbs or eggs. As a great alternative to meat, black bean quinoa burgers are perfect, and best left vegan. Increasing the quinoa or using almond meal are two ideas to replace the bread crumbs. Adding tofu or chia seeds would replace the function of the eggs. Good start to a needed recipe for people needing or wanting healthy alternatives to meat.
