As a Florida native, I have been making Key Lime pies for 40 years and I always welcome new variations on the old standby original which Badtothebonebaker refers to - and then provides the recipe for in her comments. The fact of the matter is that there are a number of successful and interesting variations to Key Lime Pie - I have seen (and tried) recipes that used sour cream or cream cheese as an ingredient and real key limes or regular limes. And although the traditional crust is a graham cracker one, I have also seen other crusts used. The point being that this is just another twist on making a Key Lime Pie - and by the way, I made it and its fine. I try to always use key lime juice but as the narrator in the video states you can also use plain lime juice which works as well - it just does not produce the traditional pale yellow color seen when using real key limes.
