Blackberry Slush Intermezzo

Plays: 2705

In this video, you’ll see how to make a quick and easy, sweet, slushy blackberry intermezzo with just a hint of black pepper. What’s an intermezzo? It’s the bright, refreshing little palate cleanser served between courses. It could also be a dessert, of course. Intermezzo may sound fancy; but really, if you can make ice, you can make this recipe. It’s just fresh fruit and sugar-water, plus a secret ingredient—a couple quick grinds of black pepper, just a pinch! You’ll see how to strain out the blackberry seeds before freezing your slush. Can you use other berries besides blackberries? Of course! Watch the video, then get the recipe for Chef John’s Blackberry Slush.

In regards to the Blackberry slush...I cannot use sugar in my diet, is there a way around the use of it? I use Equal in my diet, but know I can't make a simple syrup with it. Help?
