Apr 16, 2013 1:32 PMMake sure your filling is very hot in the pie shell as that is what cooks the bottom of the meringue. Otherwise, you will get water. Seal the meringue to the edges of the pie crust or it will shrink and become a circle of meringue in the middle. Cook at lower temp and for a longer period. It can take a good 20 minutes for the meringue to cook but not be brown on top.
